Rebecca Cervenak

Rebecca Cervenak – PYP Ohio

Rebecca Cervenak, JD, RYT-200, is the Program Director for Prison Yoga Project Ohio (PYP-OH) and a practicing attorney. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Juris Doctor with a specialization in Creative Problem Solving.

As a non-profit attorney, Rebecca spent several years working to reduce incarceration, improve conditions of confinement, and increase access to trauma-informed programming throughout California. While living in San Diego, she completed her YTT in 2017 and the PYP training in January 2018.

In Fall 2018, Rebecca moved back to Cleveland and assumed the role of Program Director for PYP-OH. She facilitates yoga in juvenile and adult facilities and works to expand PYP programming throughout the state. Rebecca coordinates facilitators who are trained in PYP’s trauma-informed approach and leads workshops on best practices in the carceral system. She also handles disability cases and represents youth as a Court appointed Guardian ad Litem in dependency and delinquency cases.
